On September 8, Le Grazie of Porto Venere is celebrated the Madonna delle Grazie, the religious solemnity will be joined, as usual, the appointments of the Octopus Festival and the Patronal Fair. Food stalls will offer participants local specialties such as fried fish, stuffed muscles (mussels), octopus stew, spaghetti muscles.
The boiled octopus prepared by the Grazie cooks is so renowned that it has surpassed the regional boundaries for fame. During the festivities the Madonna patroness of the Gulf is honoured and the witness of devotion is renewed.
Our Lady of Graces is venerated in the church of the same name with the miraculous Sacred Image of Our Lady of Graces. During these celebrations, thousands and thousands of pilgrims coming from the nearby villages also from outside the province, reach the village, to honor the Madonna patron saint of the Gulf and renew their witness of devotion.
